our story

Executive Chef Jason Greene has been in kitchens since he was 16 years old.  After graduating from New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier Vermont and  working in many wonderful restaurants around the country, Jason was ready to pursue his  dream of owning a restaurant. His passion for using the highest quality ingredients, practicing artisan cooking methods and focusing on local and organic products became the center of The Grove.  Jason envisioned his cafe to be a high energy, fun place that brings the local community together to enjoy superb culinary products and relax with their friends and family.

Lauren Greene shared the same vision. While Jason was working in kitchens, Lauren was in the hospitality and hotel world gaining experience in Las Vegas Nevada and Scottsdale Arizona. Her passion for practicing the lost art of “hospitality” and creating experiences for guests made her the perfect business partner for the Chef.

Today, The Grove Cafe & Market is a bustling cafe scene, serving fine foods in a casual, fun atmosphere in Albuquerque New Mexico’s trendy EDo neighborhood.  Jason and Lauren have owned and managed The Grove since June 14, 2006…Jason creating in the kitchen and Lauren creating the experience.
